Banks: Japanese banks can usually be found in front of train stations or in convenient locations, such as Mitsubishi UFJ Bank, Mizuho Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, and Japan Post Bank. However, many banks close at 3 PM.
Currency Exchange Shops: Chain exchange shops like Travelex have outlets in airports, train stations, shopping centers, and tourist attractions, where they exchange multiple currencies. Some also accept credit cards for purchasing foreign currency.

Credit Card Acceptance in Japan

Small Merchants and Rural Areas: Small shops, local restaurants, or businesses in rural areas may not support credit card payments or may have restrictions, such as only accepting credit cards during specific hours or requiring a minimum purchase amount.
Accommodation: Almost all hotels support credit card payments, but some minshuku (traditional Japanese inns) may not. It is recommended to confirm in advance when booking.
Transportation: Transportation IC cards like Suica and Pasmo can be used in various stores, including convenience stores. However, when using them on public transportation, note that some local buses and taxis may not accept credit cards and only take cash.
